Seat Floor Rivet Wrap Up

As you can see… Sam and I had some fun wrapping up the seat floor section (at least as far as we can go for a while). Sam had the privilege of testing the foot well assembly… fitting considering he built them, and will probably be the first to use them in flight!

As for the rest of the build progress, it was nothing new, with mostly drilling, dimpling, squeezing and bucking. The one area I wish I paid more attention to was the final sizes for the holes in the vicinity of the read seatback hinge. There are a series of -3 and -4 sized holes that are all intermingled. I ended up accidently drilling a size up on a couple of the holes so had to put in the larger rivets. From a structural perspective it’s obviously fine, but would have liked to catch those naunces during the build. Pictures below for detail.

Oddly enough, the foot well assembly feels like a major milestone. Maybe because it is a part that you know will be front and center when all is said and done. Given the current Build Crew hours distribution, I have a feeling Sam will be the first to ride in that back seat so we made sure his feet would fit in those foot wells. We celebrated with some airplane noises and a good chuckle.

Next up I get to work on the Seat Ramps and front console areas. This includes the fuel selector value and throttle quadrant installs…. should be fun! Until then… Happy Building!!
