When I decided to start the build I had mixed feelings about a builder assist program. Part of me felt like it was “cheating”, while part of me thought it would be a great way to pave a path to success. Especially considering wanting to get the kids and Jess involved, I thought a class like this would help us all bond for a week and while learning the fundamental building skills and taking the mystery out of the build.
After completing the class I can unequivocally say that it was money well spent. Not only did we achieve in a week what I’ve seen other builders take months to do, but I also feel like we have the confidence to take on a lot of the other kits on our own. Plus we now have a place we can turn if we get stuck. Do I regret not being able to say I did it all on my own? Maybe a little, but the benefits of the experience well outweigh the downsides.
If you ever are curious about it, don’t hesitate to reach out and I can give you my full thoughts.
